For those of you interested Only in TRAVEL, I (Jack) wrote the blog between MARCH 2010 and October 2010 during our travels west. We saw the most beautiful places and had the best time in our big truck and little trailer. See Blog Archive below.

Moving Day Tomorrow

I was hoping for a cancellation so I could stay another week, here, but it was not to be. I found a Passport America RV Park in Ignacio. Sky Ute Casino. I took a ride over there--it's only about 18 miles away. Going over the GPS took me on a very pretty route on gravel roads--good, well maintained and not bumpy gravel roads. That's because I had the no highways as an avoidance. It's certainly not forested, but clean as a whistle and nice level spots with plenty of good scenery to explore nearby. On the way home, I changed the avoidance, and it brought me back here the way I came in. It's a little longer, but not by much. I don't think I'd have a problem on the gravel, but pulling the trailer I'd prefer paved. I just took a couple of pictures, today.

    1. I'll take pictures. New experience for me. If I like it, I'll stay until it's time to pick Susan up in Albuquerque.

  2. Now that's my kind of travel day. 18 miles. Ours is going to be about 150 which still isn't bad. Lots of boats at that marina. Safe travels.

    1. I know. It was great. I'm too tired, after a hectic day, to even write a blog. I think I'm losing my mind. So glad to be parked for a while. I want to take a ride up to Creede and South Fork--not sure which day, yet.

  4. So sorry you can't stay longer in the park you like but 18 miles seems like an easy move even on gravel roads. Safe travels.

    1. This park isn't as pretty, but it's well manicured. Town is only 2-3 miles away, and I get to use the indoor pool every night. My back really needs it. The gravel roads were well maintained. I chose to take the other route and it was just as pretty. I don't spend much time at the trailer unless I have an off day. I'm out exploring, generally. Glad Susan decided not to come this week--wind up to 60 mph in Albuquerque. Thanks for stopping by Sherry.

  5. Beautiful scenery along that gravel road. Like you said most of us avoid towing our trailers on gravel. The old barns turned out nice. Hope the high winds die down for you.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
