For those of you interested Only in TRAVEL, I (Jack) wrote the blog between MARCH 2010 and October 2010 during our travels west. We saw the most beautiful places and had the best time in our big truck and little trailer. See Blog Archive below.

Physical Therapy

Today was quite a day. Nancy took me to GA Veterinary Rehabilitation Fitness & Pain Management (GVR) as my doctor recommended. I met three very nice ladies. One was at the desk where we signed in, another was the doctor, and the third was the doctor's assistant. They did a lot of the things that they did to me at Georgia Veterinary Specialists (GVS),  yesterday.

Then the doctor's assistant gave me a laser treatment. I had to wear special glasses and so did the two ladies doing my treatment and Nancy. I was a bit skeptical, at first, but they made me feel better, and they didn't hurt me. I have to go back for a recheck, and I will get to swim.

They demonstrated exercises that Nancy and Susie will help me do (mostly stretching) until my back is better. They think I hurt myself when I jumped the fence at the nature center a week or so ago. I knew at the time it wasn't the greatest idea, but I thought I was going to lose Susie! They told me, "No more jumping." I also have some medication to take and Nancy is going to buy me some Glucosamine which is good for my joints. All in all, it was a very pleasurable experience, I must say.

  1. Finally have a good internet connection again. Thank goodness. I am so glad that Jack is going to be okay with some therapy. And I hope you are also feeling better.

  2. OH my. I haven't been reading to many blogs lately and just got to yours. I am so happy Jack is going to be OK. I just love the glasses he had to wear. Maybe they will give him some if he does all his therapy like a good boy that I know he is.
Give him a kiss for me.

  3. Cool shades, Jack. Wonder if they make those in a light amber sunglass???

  4. Thanks, everyone. Jack is still not eating unless I coax him, but I think he's going to be just fine. I took him for a short walk a little while ago, and he did well. When I got back, Bella and Bogey had helped themselves to 6 cupcakes that were on the counter. Absolutely no evidence except for the box they were in was left. I asked who did it and got the same old, "Not me blank stares."

They had green icing (St. Patrick's Day, I suppose) so you know what I'll be looking for, today!

Again, thank you all for your comments. Donna, Jack thought his shades were cool, too.

Sandie, I'm about the same, but putting on pounds not being able to move as well or as long. The short walk with Jack this morning just about did me in.

    JOJO, consider Jack kissed! LOL

  5. Thanks to GVS and GVR, Jack is back to being Jack. He's moving with ease, eating well, taking his meds, and getting on the couch!

He loves his exercises, and I will continue to do them forever.

  6. It's always a pleasure to hear about someone taking good care of their canine pal. Best wishes to you! Jack looks like a sweetie.

  7. Thanks, Sue. Those of us who love our pals share a common thread that many people don't understand. Jack is a sweetie (he told me LOL).

I love the way you talk about Bridget and Spike--they add so much to our lives. Me thinks that Spike may be a smaller version of Jack--a character, that's for sure.

    Thanks for stopping by.
