Spam Delete Warning

Well, a while back I discovered under design/comments/spam in blogger that there was a place to delete spam that blogger caught. Be careful, I just deleted a whole bunch of comments which was so stupid on my part, and there's no way to retrieve them. I guess if they get into the spam bin, it's just best to leave them. I should have left well enough alone since Blogger does a very good job of catching it, but oh, no, I just had to fiddle around.

What a dope!

  1. You can actually Check the comments in the spam box that you wish to publish and delete the actual spam. That way you are training blogger what is excetpable to you as comments.

    It's about time.

  2. I know. That's what I did the first time. Just a lapse in attention this time, and the deed was done. Fortunately, I think it only took comments for the latest posts. I was so angry at myself (especially for not paying attention to the warning), but I can't undo it so I can't waste energy--just thought I'd warn everyone in as much as I had brought it up a few weeks ago.

I went back to see what I did wrong. Thanks, Rick. One thing I am amazed at is how adept Blogger is at capturing spam.

  3. Believe me, I've done so many things that I couldn't undo. It's amazing how my brain refuses to function sometimes.

  4. I don't feel so bad, now, Sandie. I'd like to say my finger hit the key by accident, but it didn't. It was definitely a brain cramp!!!
