For those of you interested Only in TRAVEL, I (Jack) wrote the blog between MARCH 2010 and October 2010 during our travels west. We saw the most beautiful places and had the best time in our big truck and little trailer. See Blog Archive below.

  1. Thanks for the link. I am always so sorry for the animals in a storm or other disaster. Glad they are being helped.

    1. They are the forgotten ones, although more and more shelters are letting people in who refuse to leave their pets behind. Thanks for checking out the link, Donna.

  2. This is wonderful. Diaster seems to bring out the very best in so many people. Sure wish we could be as caring and helpful during regular times too.

    1. I've found that most are, Sherry. Those who aren't don't enter my circle of life. Thanks for checking out the link. My sister and family are ok, but part of her town and surrounding towns are like 3rd world countries. We've been told, by the media and public figures, that help is there--it's not. Many people suffering. Many people losing hope.

  3. I visit the Animal Rescue website every day and they also have a link to donate for Sandy's animals. We can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for those poor people. And now it's so cold and they don't have a place to live. Even if they can rebuild, where do they live in the meantime. It is so sad. Life can be very sad.

  4. As my sister said, "They learned nothing from Katrina." 2/3 of the gas stations can't pump gas because they don't have electricity, and now the ones that could pump have no gas. Why wouldn't it be mandatory for every station to have a generator? They had them ready for the marathon. Why didn't they stock pile gas on the islands? People are angry so the lines at stations are turning violent. Some people have no where to go and there are no shelters. They have turned away power crews from other states because they weren't in the union. The power company has no poles (how could a power company run out of poles?) These are among the highest taxed people in the country; and they have no government help regardless of what's being told on the news. The scenes of the President and The New Jersey Governor showed the havoc through rose colored glasses.

Thanks for visiting, Sandie. I hope blogs are spreading the word.
